Julia Davison
Physician Assistant

Julia Davison is a board certified Physician Assistant who joined Pacific Psychiatry in 2019, after moving to the Central Coast from Maine, where she had practiced medicine as a PA for 35 years. Ms. Davison performs comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, establishes diagnoses, orders and interprets lab tests, and prescribes and monitors the use of medications. She also provides supportive psychotherapy as a part of each appointment. She strives to take a careful history of a patient’s life story to consider all factors in prescribing appropriate treatment.
Ms. Davison is a 1984 graduate of the Rutgers University Physician Assistant Program. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She has held a Certificate of Added Qualification in Psychiatry (CAQ) since 2014.
Ms. Davison has provided psychiatric services in a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient treatment settings over the last 40 years She started her career as a treatment team leader at a large state psychiatric hospital, where she worked on the admissions service and the forensic ward. She has had many years of experience working as a medication provider for community mental health centers. Before leaving Maine, Ms. Davison was employed for five years as a psychiatric provider to male and female inmates at a large correctional center. She brings this extensive knowledge and experience to her role at Pacific Psychiatry.
Ms. Davison treats older teenagers and adults and is adept at treating a full range of psychiatric disorders. She has a particular interest in helping women who have suffered from PTSD, perinatal/postnatal mood disturbances, grief reactions, problems with menopause and aging, and relationship problems.
She loves living on the Central Coast with her husband, son, and two Maine Coon cats.
