Dr. Regina Bahten is a board-certified psychiatrist with a deep commitment to holistic patient care, addressing the mind, body, and spirit. Growing up with a scientist father and a chronically ill mother, she had an appreciation for science as a tool for improving lives across many domains and knew from an early age that she wanted to become a physician. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Human Development from the University of California, Riverside, before obtaining her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 1988. She began her medical career in internal medicine, completing an internship at the University of Nevada, Reno. For over a decade, she practiced primary care in diverse settings, including urgent care, geriatric clinics, and correctional medicine. During this time, she recognized the profound impact of mental health on overall well-being, which led her to transition to psychiatry. She returned to the University of Nevada, Reno, completing her psychiatric residency in 2003.

Since then, Dr. Bahten has built a distinguished career in psychiatry, working in various outpatient settings, including the VA healthcare system, community mental health services, and telepsychiatry. She has provided psychiatric evaluations, therapy, and medication management to veterans and underserved populations, often integrating her primary care background to offer comprehensive treatment.
